About Face

Short Bio
The Washington-based DJ simply known as Face always had unique musical tastes. The first electronic music Face was exposed to came from diverse artists and DJs such as Orbital, Juno Reactor, Dieselboy, and Freaky Flow. While embracing a wide variety of genres early on, Face soon found his true calling: breakbeat. Inspired by the sounds of the UK nu skool breaks scene, he taught himself how to mix beats in 2002. Since then, Face has rocked parties in and around the nation’s capital such as Alias, Strangeland, Hell and Space Program. He has also been featured on BijouBreaks.com, JourneyDeep.net, ExpansionBroadcast.com, ETN.fm, and Outbreak on Atlanta’s WRAS 88.5 FM. Now you can listen to Face’s “Entropy Sessions” show every month via podcast.

Hybridized.org
Face has been involved with hybridized.org since early 2003: first as an avid fan of the artists featured on the site, and more recently as a site administrator and forum moderator. Currently Face manages site content for Hybrid, Trafik, Benz & MD and Deepsky, among others.

MixDepot.net
Started as a sister site to hybridized.org, MixDepot.net was built to cater to the hosting needs of artists and DJs. It was designed to allow DJs to host multimedia content, manage subscription lists and receive feedback via forums and ratings. Face saw MixDepot as a great opportunity to expand his horizons and became one of the first beta testers for the site. Sadly, the site is now under new management and the service seems to have suffered…

DanceRadio.gr
Soon after being invited to take part in an all-day breakbeat marathon in early 2007 sponsored by DanceRadio.gr and Lot49, Face was offered his own hour-long monthly show on the Internet-based radio station. For two years, Face dished out the freshest blends of breaks, tech funk and prog house every second Wednesday of the month. Entropy Sessions continues now on a monthly basis in podcast and direct-download format.

BreakYourFace.net
With the seeming demise of MixDepot as a host for his latest sets, Face decided it was time to take things to the next level and design his own site. After much searching and debating over the right domain name and hosting company, BreakYourFace.net was born, and here we are today.
